Who was your partner? Did you work well together?
My partner was Arianna Walker, and yes we did work well together. It was a surprise to me because we are close friends. Usally, when you're partnered with your friends you dont work well. Instead of conflict between us we worked together greatly. We communicated frequently and gave strong critique.
Is this “beautiful” work? Was this the best work you could have possibly done? Why do you say so? Explain in detail.
I think my work is beautiful. I'm not sure if other people see it as beautiful but whatever they think won't ever effect my own personal opinion. This isn't my best work. I only had a limited amount of time in class to work on my interpretation. Class time wasn't enough to finish my project, so I had to complete my project at home. This was difficult because I usually get home late due to soccer practice. When I was home working on my project I was already extremely exhausted physically and mentally. My work could've been better if I had more time in class.
What could you have improved about your work? If you were to go back and repeat the project, what would you have done differently?
I could've improved on the blending I did with the oil pastels. It was nice but sloppy in some areas. I think if I was able to go back in time and redo this project I would, challenge myself by getting more creative with my art materials. I only used oil pastels to color my sketch but I think I could've used paint and/or colored pencils to make my product stand out more.
Look at the “Purpose” that Carol wrote at the top. Does your work achieve the purpose? Why do you say so?
Yes, I know my work achieves these purposes. My work isn't flawless but it sure did reach every purpose in a creative way. My art piece isn't literal it lets you think more and have lets you have an open mind. Even though it might be difficult to understand what the drawing is representing you can easily signify that the anchor represents the sea, the butterfly represents beauty, and the flower represents a homebody.
